Whenever people ask why Sauron even created the ring I say: When your .EXE file is too large, you move some of the code to DLL. But that doesn't mean you don't need those DLL. They're just separated from EXE for better handling.

Now I wanna see a parallel universe story where this happens, Mordor collapses and instead of Sauron others terrorize the land: Saruman and the Mordor Orcs obviously, but also Denethor sends his sons out to conquer, maybe one of them eventually sides with the good guys. Maybe the armies of the South aren't quite done there. I think somebody with a deeper knowledge of the background should continue this ^^

One thing I never really got was isn’t the ring mostly useless without the other rings? The rings were given out to the leaders of the other races and then the one ring allows you to control the people wearing the other ones… and makes you turn invisible for some reason. If the other rings are gone doesn’t the one ring just make you invisible and drive you crazy
